Parish Council News

There is currently one casual vacancy for co-option to the Parish Council. Application Forms are available from the Parish Clerk.

To qualify for co-option to a Parish Council, a person must on the day of co-option be a British Subject or citizen of the European Union or Ireland and attained the age of 18 years and

(a)       on that day is and thereafter continues to be a local government elector for the area of the Authority; or

(b)       has during the whole twelve months preceding that day occupied as owners or tenant any land or other premises in the area; or

(c)        his or her only place of work during that twelve months has been in the area; or

(d)       has during the twelve months resided in that area: or

(e)       during the whole twelve months has resided in the Parish or within 4.8 Kilometres (three

miles) of it.

Disqualification from being elected a member is set out in Section 80 of the Local Government Act 1972.

East Cambridgeshire District Council in exercise of its powers under section 59 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and under all other enabling powers has made the following Order known as:

East Cambridgeshire District Council Public Space Protection Order Dog Fouling 2018

The Order applies to all public places in East Cambridgeshire District Council including roads, footpaths, pavements, allyways and towpaths, all grass verges, and parks and open spaces including wooded areas.  For this purpose, a 'public place' means any land to which the public has access, on payment or otherwise, as of right or by virtue of expressed or implied permission.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING SERVICE IS SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19

Dial-a-Ride - The monthly trip to Ely, on the first Thursday of the month will continue through out the year, although the service will now be provided by the Voluntary Network based in Newmarket.  Seats can be booked by contacting the Voluntary Network on 01638 664304.  You will need to be a member of the Voluntary Network, but they will give you the details about this when you book.
