Following further discussions with Cambridgeshire County Council Highways the Parish Council has requested certain clarifications of the original proposal and is considering possible alternatives. The Council had hoped that full plans/proposals would be available to view at the Annual Parish Meeting on May 21st, 7pm at the Gardiner Memorial Hall. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the correct plans to be prepared by Highways, and therefore will be unable to share with the community at the meeting as originally planned.
As soon as the revised plans and proposals are received, it is our intention to make these available to the community by holding a number of information sessions, where residents can discuss their views and raise questions with members of the Parish Council. Details will also be available on this website.
In order that we can continue to jointly establish the community's wishes, we will continue to liaise and work with our local community and Highways Department to establish a consensus of opinion for Safety in Burwell.
This, in addition to any Statutory Consultation, demonstrates the Parish Council's intention to continue to engage fully with the community on this issue before moving forward.
